It is a properly sized 2025 Audi electric SUV for Aussie suburbs, with two flavours: the rear-drive 45 (210 kW) and the quattro 55 (300 kW). Both use an 82 kWh battery, good for up to 540 km WLTP in the Sportback 45 and 503 km in the 55 Sportback, with 0–100 km/h times of 6.7 and 5.4 seconds respectively. Pricing starts at $84,900 before on-roads. DC charging tops out at 175 kW, which is handy on a road trip.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Sharp entry price for a German badge, still under the Luxury Car Tax in most specs.

Calm, premium ride, classic Audi cabin quality, and proper tri-zone climate plus big screens.

Strong real-world range in the 45, quick shove in the 55.

5-year unlimited kilometre warranty and 8-year/160,000 km battery cover.

Cons

Options can snowball, especially if you want Sonos audio or AR HUD.

Heavier than some rivals, which you feel on a twisty B-road.

Interior space is good, not class leading, and the rear design divides opinion.

How Much Does It Cost?

Audi cut prices just before launch. The Q4 45 e-tron SUV is $84,900, the Sportback 45 is $86,500, then it jumps to $105,900 for the 55 quattro SUV and $107,500 for the Sportback. These are Manufacturer’s List Prices, so budget stamp duty and delivery on top.

Features and Benefits

Every 2025 AUDI Q4 E-tron gets an 11.6-inch infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch digital cockpit, and an 8-speaker 180 W system. Step up to the 55 and you score Matrix LED headlights, sport seats, bigger wheels, and the option of a Sonos upgrade with AR head-up display in the Premium Plus pack. Battery preconditioning, 175 kW DC and 11 kW AC charging, and energy recuperation with three paddleshifter-controlled levels come standard.

Safety

ANCAP has not tested the local car yet, but the sibling scored five stars via Euro NCAP, which ANCAP references for NZ-spec vehicles. Standard kit includes AEB with junction assist, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, exit warning, and adaptive cruise. The 55 adds adaptive cruise assist with stop and go, emergency assist, 360-degree cameras, and park assist plus.

Running Costs

Servicing is capped by Audi, and early buyers received 12 months of Chargefox public charging included. Combine that with claimed energy use starting at 16.9-18.5 kWh/100 km, and day-to-day costs look friendlier than a similarly sized petrol Q5. Warranty is five years unlimited kilometres, battery eight years/160,000 km.

Comparison To Its Competitors

The Audi Q4 E-tron specs put it squarely against Tesla Model Y, BMW iX3/ BMW iX1, Genesis GV60, Mercedes-Benz EQB and Volvo EX30. The Tesla still wins on outright efficiency and Supercharger coverage, but trails the Audi on cabin polish. BMW’s iX1 undercuts range but feels a touch lighter on its feet. Genesis GV60 is techier but pricier once specced. Mercedes EQB gives you seven seats, yet its front-drive roots show. The Volvo EX30 is cheaper and quicker in Twin Motor form, though smaller inside. The Q4 sits in the middle: better finished than most, not the fastest or longest-legged, but a well-rounded 2025 Audi electric SUV that feels familiar on first drive.

2025 Audi Q4 E-tron Electric SUV Review: Price, Range and Verdict

Conclusion

If you want an Audi that just happens to be electric, the 2025 AUDI Q4 E-tron is exactly that. It is not trying to reinvent your commute, it just makes it quieter and cheaper to run. The 45 is the sweet spot: enough punch, the longest Audi Q4 E-tron range, and the sharpest price. The 55 is fun, but the extra cost is harder to justify unless all-wheel drive confidence is non-negotiable.

Rating: 8.4/10

Strong specs, sensible pricing, great refinement. A touch more steering feel, lighter weight, and a livelier design would push it higher.

Audi finally sent the 2025 AUDI Q4 E-tron to our shores and, surprise, it is not just a shrunk Q8.
